Kelly Stewart Vogel:
Music, Projects, and Discography

In 2022, I had the great opportunity to compose the music for the documentary Finding the Words: the Story of Voices from Inside, which premiered on Jan 28, 2023 at the Academy of Music in Northampton, MA.

This inspiring film is about the creativity, joy, and resilience of women in the Western Massachusetts group Voices from Inside who have overcome adversity through writing. The program integrates writing as a tool for supporting women who are currently or formerly incarcerated, as well as those who have experiences with addiction and recovery. The film brings viewers inside local jails, homes of formerly incarcerated women, local community centers, and theaters so that viewers can witness their stories firsthand. This film weaves the personal narratives of Jacqueline, Sonia, Daisy, Judy, Amie, and Kay Kay, along with insights from scholars to help audiences understand the circumstances that can lead to incarceration and addiction, as well as how writing can be a tool for hope, healing, and resilience.

Fly with the Fireflies, 2016

This is an album of childrens’ songs (covers and originals) done by Kelly and friend/fellow musician Zareen. Kelly and Zareen met in San Francisco as new mothers, and discovered their mutual love of music, harmony, and singing with (and for) their young kiddos.

See them dance! See them twirl! We had so much fun playing at this farmer's market. The fans went wild.
